End of may me & a few friends will be leaving southeast Texas heading into northern Arizona to check out the Grand Canyon.Can't wait til then comes.A few of us went to Big Bend national park last Oct.and had a great time.

 

If you get the chance I would recommend riding on Highway 191 either north or south between Clifton Az. and Eager Az. That is an awesome twisty road.

 

Piper, enjoy ! will be heading that way end of May also. Up through Million Dollar Highway, Black Canyon Gunnison, over to Moab then North Rim. Went last year up through Zion, Bryce Canyon and had a blast.

 

"End of May" is usually a very hot time out there, Plan on temps 115+.

Now, early May, it's 35 degrees cooler. THAT would be much more enjoyable. And, without the holiday/summer motorhome family bunch to get in your way. That would be the time to do GC.

EDIT~ Might want to go to Williams Arizona for a visit.

 

We went May 30th last year and it was mid-forties in the mornings at North Rim, Zion, Bryce and Durango . Of course it was 90 at Mexican Hat !

 

Maybe we'll run into you up there,we're heading to the north rim also.I'm not sure of our route yet but will find out pretty soon.There will be 5 maybe 6 of us,with Texas tags.

Are you riding all the way or trailering some ? We usually trailer to NM (Santa Fe/Alb) and ride 5 days and trailer back.

Early May you're very likely to get snow at the North Rim. We've seen snow there even on Mother's Day weekend. The hot weather will be at the lower elevations.
