"End of May" is usually a very hot time out there, Plan on temps 115+.
Now, early May, it's 35 degrees cooler. THAT would be much more enjoyable. And, without the holiday/summer motorhome family bunch to get in your way. That would be the time to do GC.
EDIT~ Might want to go to Williams Arizona for a visit.

Are you riding all the way or trailering some ? We usually trailer to NM (Santa Fe/Alb) and ride 5 days and trailer back.
