I don’t know man. It has to be one of the best motorcycle roads in the country. There is a lot of history with the pony express, mining, emigrants, Paiute and Shoshone Indians, Mexicans, etc. etc. You can feel the vibe from that when you ride through. The area is sparsely populated and remote. The smell off the sage brush after a rain shower is incredible. The landscapes are immense, difficult to capture with a photo. The ride is almost a sensory overload. It is spectacular, fantastic.
We left Fallon under partly cloudy skies and cool temperatures. Through the day they gradually increased. We passed through numerous rain showers. At one point we were riding through sleet that collected on the wind screen and made it difficult to see. Our heated gloves, heated jacket liners and rain gear served us well.
Now we we are chilling in the motel in Ely, Nevada.
Later,
MC
