We are going from Cleveland, Oh. Then around the North side of the Grand Canyon to Vegas and coming back on Rt 66 as much as possible. This will be just the guys with either 4 or 5 bikes.

Last time I went up the peak it was still dirt road for most of it, hear it's a much nicer ride now. If you guys do space out at least 4 or 5 bike lengths, don't stack up and enjoy. Your into guns & heavy ordnance make plans to stop by Dragmans outside Colorado springs on the east side, entertaining old school biker/chopper builder who went gun nut.

If you're riding up to the Peak on a weekend day, watch out for the cagers who might just stop to take a picture of a unique rock or other some such thing on the way up. They usually do that right out of a switchback that's headed uphill at a pretty good angle and they won't give you much warning. If you're too close you'll find you'self headed uphill, in a lean, and all at once stopping. And then trying to get started again. Leave a lot of space between you and whatever is in front of you and when approaching a switchback make sure you wait until they get around it and keep going instead of stopping in the middle or immediately after. All this without trying to fight back the urge to shoot someone.

However, once at the top and at several points along the way, the view is incredible. Just be careful and have a great time.

The ride back down is much more enjoyable and easier.

Have fun.

The Pikes Peak 5 in 1 is a poker run that goes over Five 10,000 foot or higher passes in One day. It is put on by the Pikes Peak HOG chapter. They end up far enough from home base that night that it becomes an overnighter with a party!
