Default Death Valley-Hoover Dam Trip

My wife and I with nine other Harley's went on a ride to Death Valley. I wasn't aware of the beauty or the vast area of Death Valley until I rode it. The colors and the different elevations was amazing. We went from below sea level to over 6000 feet with temperature changes of 20+ degrees. We stayed in Beatty, NV and explored Rhyolite, NV which is a ghost town with some strange outdoor art. We were amazed at Scotty's Castle, he was quite the con man. The group left for home (Southern California) on the third day where as my wife and I continued the adventure alone on to see Red Rock Canyon (Near Las Vegas) then on to Boulder,NV where we spent the night. The next morning it was off to Hoover Dam. The new overpass they are building is, well, it's nuts!

I did a little of the same trip in January on a Fly & Ride. It's awesome, isn't it? Thanks for the pictures.

I've never seen photos of Death Valley. Looks awesome! The Black Canyon is awesome too, and that bypass is unbelievable. I wouldn't be surprised to see some airliner traffic right beside you when that bypass is complete.

I can't wait to go back to the Hoover Dam someday, and travel on that bypass on a bike. (My wife wants nothing to do with that.)

NICE pictures!!! I am putting Death Valley on the list. Beautiful. We went through The Hoover dam area on our way to Vegas this past year and the overpass is pretty impressive from an engineering standpoint. Looks like you had a great time and that's what it is all about.

Nice pics and write up!

I'm starting to think about areas to include in a 8-14 day solo ride once the weather
warms up a bit and I think Death Valley will be on the list. I haven't been there
since 1972 and I think a return trip is long overdue..
