Head out to the Loess Hills north of Council Bluffs. Must hit towns are, Beebeetown, Woodbine, Pisgha, Moorhead, Soldier, and many more in the area! If you ever come out this way, let me know and my friends and I would be happy to show you around!

Default The Bridge(s) of Madison County

The Mrs. and I finally made it back to Madison County (Winterset) to check out one of covered bridges from the movie/book. We took the "Madison County Loop" in reverse from my previous post in this thread. It was very cool but a little dicey getting to it. It's on a gravel when coming from the north. Leaving we headed south to loop around and that way was paved. The Mrs. was much happier with that and so were my shoulders from the digging in of fingernails. Anyway, snapped a few (no real great) pics with my phone so thought I'd share. Enjoy!

Cedar Covered Bridge
In Robert James Waller's novel, The Bridges of Madison County, Cedar Bridge is where Francesca Johnson goes to meet Robert Kincaid to help him take photographs. Cedar is also the bridge on the novel’s cover.
