Any good sites to help plan out our trip? I'm looking for biker friendly hotels, etc...

I do my own mapping for 2 lane routes on HD Trip planner and utilize Google Earth to find motels along the route I have chosen. There is usually a link to check the motel out, then I drop a dime and touch base with them on the phone, taking nothing for granted. Always works for me if I am pre planning trips.

Best Westerns are high priced even with their supposed discounts. I usually can find decent motels for under $100, and anymore the motels I have dealt with are biker friendly. I've never found one that gave you a garage space or approved of you parking inside the room but I have found some that let you park under their front canopy, but I prefer parking outside my door with a disc lock on and a cable lock if I feel its necessary. I try to stay out of unsavory areas thats part of why I do the google earth thing.

Robbinsville NC has the Two wheel Inn and the have a garage for you bike...BTW i don't stay at Best Western either...Was just telling him that they are bike friendly. For me it depends where i go. Then i pick where i will stay...I usually stay at a central location and leave from there every day...Like Marion NC or Franklin NC.

Thanks for all the help! The trip was great. We took the scenic route out to the mountains and stayed for 3 days and on the way back took the interstate. I'm hooked now! Can't wait for the next trip! lol

I have always wanted to do the Natches Trace Pkwy. Harley-Davidson website "Ride-Planner" will show some great roads for trips that others have taken.
