How could I have forgotten Normal, IL... home of Illinois State Univ?! I remember getting a taxi ride to the campus when I was on a business trip there. We had just driven past the library.
Me: "Normal Public Library ... hahaha ... I'll bet you hear a lot of jokes about that!"
Cabbie: "I DON'T RECALL ANY" (said thru clenched teeth, with a pissed off look)
Me: "ehh, sorry..."
Cabbie: [never said another word]
It was the trip from hell. The Bloomington/Normal airport got closed due to snow when I was trying to leave. I decided to catch a cab to Chicago to increase my chances of getting home (didn't work out... I got stuck in Chicago instead). I WOUND UP WITH THE SAME FRIGGIN CAB DRIVER!!!

BTW, there is an Athol in MA too, and must not forget Rancho Cucamonga, CA.

And an Athol, ID - used to be sort of a Devil Worshiper haven.

There is a Moscow, Idaho.

[quote=Mikey 1450;7946427]No Photos, but 3 come to mind from my travels that seemed different
1)Skookumchuck, Brish Columbia... What is a Skookumchuck?
2) Normal, Illinois.... Normal police dept, Normal fire dept, etc..
3) Gay, Ga.... I'm sure this town was named before the "GAY" term was connected to the Homosexuals[/quote

Skookumchuck is a Chinook indain word Skookum is strong, chuck is water .
So strong water or rapids.

Ran across an Interstate exit sign in Arkansas that said, "Exit 69 Johnson". I looked at my wife and said, Damn straight!
