Going into Canada...DUI?

Wife and I will be riding into Canada this year. She had a DUI over 10 years ago and when she ran her DMV report it didn't come up.

Should we be worried?

Anyone else out there get in with a DUI on their record?

Maybe give Canadian customs a call. Probably better information than that from a message board.

Someone asked me that question years ago because I was crossing the border every year. I know you could be turned away but there are ways to get around it. Just a quick search I found this.. http://www.ezbordercrossing.com/the-.../#.UvGUGhYo6Uk

And another which says they can go back ten years... http://www.tripadvisor.com/Travel-g1...nvictions.html

Here's a Canadian gov't link that looks like it may help....but advises your wife's conviction is really up to the local border officer's discretion. I thought maybe she could just take her passport down to the consulate's office in Atlanta and have them run it, but no dice according to their website.

Canadians going into the states have the same issues. Is it just me or does it seem stupid our countries worry about this shit. If you watch the news recently a Canadian was not allowed to enter Washington state because of a marijuana charge which the US customs knew nothing about but the person truthfully answered the question. I mean it is legal to smoke it there and you cannot enter for having smoked it. so what you have a DUI, how does that make a difference.
Maybe if both countries stopped worrying about the small stuff we can take care of the bigger problems

In 2000 I rode into Canada with a friend who did 12 years in Sing Sing in New York.
His 12 years was not for a dui. Times have changed.
