Big Louie's on Older Touring Bikes?
Hi,
I've got a chance to buy some Big Louie's with the 2" baffle for my 2007 Road King Custom. I have a Stage 1 (K&N) intake, stock header (which I assume has no cat, since it's a 2007). The bike currently has Python 3" slip ons and has been remapped using SERT to a Stage 1. Currently, I don't have another tuner.
Would I need a tuner (or a dyno tune) if I swapped the Pythons for Big Louie's with 2"baffles?
I want something a little quieter at cruising speeds than the Pythons (they rumble ALL the time) but that also bark when I roll on the throttle. Will the 2" baffles do this? Should I go 2.25" or will it be as loud as my Pythons? From what I've read, 2.5" would not be recommended for a non cat system like mine, right?
Thanks,
Steve

Everything you said about the 2.00" and sound I agree with. The tune should still work or at least close enough it won't require changing. I can't guarantee that but you should be good. 2.25" will not mellow out at cruising speeds like the 2.00" will. The 2.50" is just loud and doesn't provide much back pressure so it's not recommended. 2.00" is my recommendation for you.
