I am waiting on an email from H-D about compatibility with non H-D branded headsets. They didn’t know on the phone and are sending the question up the ladder.

So did you find out if it is compatibility with non H-D branded headsets?

Just got an email from H-D that nearly all Bluetooth headsets will work with the system and it is not limited to H-D branded.

One of my primary questions is can both people adjust their volumes differently or is the pax stuck with what the rider sets?

You adjust your volume at the headset.

I have done a bit of research and it appears looking at the wiring harnesses of the kit and the harness that is claimed to be needed on all 14 thru 17 models, as well as looking at the wiring schematics, the added harness is only if you have or want a CB.
If you read through the install directions of the kit, it's pretty funny that when you read down you will get to a section that reads " For All" to route the USB cable to right side cover.... hahaha earlier they tell you to discard that harness

Yes, for one thing.

Or do you mean I cannot have one volume for the XM, another volume for CB, a third for intercom, and a fourth for phone, as I've got it set now?

Plus the passenger mutes the CB and phone, has the intercom on two and the XM about half way up.

If the only way to adjust the volume is the headset, those settings are not possible and this goes back to "Damn, that expensive for a worthless item"

The way I understand it is that it works just like the wired just without the wire. The volume controls will be done at the helmet and should remember the settings for each function as it does now.
