The is one of the first videos I've seen outside in the sun. Where I agree it doesn't really appear to be a "CVO" paint job, it's pretty sexy!

Taking what I owe and or would be losing in the trade out of the equation.

I'm also wondering ( Assuming I owned the bike outright ) if it would be better to take the hit on the " Obsolete " 114 motor now ( The first year ) or two or three years down the road.

It's a slippery slope. Usually, an engine bump lasts 5-7 years on average but I vaguely remember this happening before where they made a change after only one year.
( early to mid 2000's )

Yes, very true but the 114 in the CVO is no longer the current generation CVO motor and this will affect Trade-in value.

My dealer said motor 114 will be offered in other models. Not obsolete by any means and just read the postings sounds like taking your 114 to 117 actually will be a better performing motor. Would never sell my bike based on factoring future value. I'd only sell or trade based on just wanting a newer bike. But to sell thinking your bike loses value it will be the same story next year when the 19 models are released. And what next the 120 next year so you sell or trade again. If the manufactures know this then they will start to do 121 motors then 122 motors then 123 LOL. I think you get it LOl. It's all about the latest greatest but 50 years from now it's all about the rarity so a 114 CVO 17 Model may actually have more value than you realize.

What I am wondering is why they took away the water cooled on the CVO SG. Is that telling us something? Maybe the water cooled isn't helping?

I never looked at it that way.
Thank you.

I wouldn't trade for 3" and couple ft lb torque 114 with even stage I is better running motor then stock 117", it has to be big change or color option to trade up.
