Why no Stage 2 Cam for 2018 117?

I looked up on the online parts identifier what valve springs they put in the 18's. They are the same as the 2017 114s. So I doubt they put the 447 cam in a 2018 CVO 117. May have to wait to get a straight answer from a dealer.

Interesting enough, I spoke too soon. Where the screaming Eagle catalog doesn't show a stage II cam for the 2018 CVO 117, they just added all the CVO 117's to the Harley Davidson parts page under the same stage II cam used for all the Milwaukee eights (Torque and power).

The new CVO 117 engine has a lower compression ratio by .2 than the 114 and even lower than the 117 Kits for the 114 engine.
The Power cam is a waist in my opinion, as it moves everything above 3000 rpm. The torque cam is a better choice. It add more torque where you normally ride, from idle to 4000 rpm.
The new 117 engine would really benefit from compression.
If and when I do anything to my 2018 CVO, it would be a Woods cam, much better gains as they are not EPA cams.
The New Harley tuner is extremely limited in what it can do, it cant change timing or fuel. It has to stay EPA compliant, so it can really only down load lean epa compliant maps.
If I do mine it will be a TTS tuner, a Fullsac MX head pipe and fullsac 2.25 baffles.

I was told on the road glide, it was because The road glide owners do not like lowers on the road glide.
My guess is HD thinks those of us on road glide customs or Street glide do not tour on our bikes and ride them a lot.

2018 CVO 117 is in Question and why ?
While some good has come out on the CVO 18 like SG lowers cleaned up with oil cooler vs liquid allowing speakers in the lowers and an upgrade to a 117 its still not what you hoped for. This is not your 117 upgrade as seen in 2017. 2018 is a step backwards when it come to power in HP. With a touted 125 FP of torque the run up is disappointing. We have only to wait once again now for a more productive Cam, a host of upgrades including matching HD add on s and the aftermarket runs of the usual elements. Pipes, Headers, Tuners, kits etc and not 2017 carry overs. Color selections and combos are drab at best. Still its a good start to an old theme. If you build it they will come. The biggest disappointment is the fit, trim and finish. A funky Harley logo on the tank and a painted HD name on RG faring is really bad and says nothing when it comes to imagination and class for the top of the line Bikes. What ever happened to that solid cast tank logo that was discontinued ? The seats are a set back with only a single color stitching and with no embossed prints. While none of these short comings will keep us from it we have only to look forward to whats to come for it. Oh and the Stereo upgrade, 900 watts of BOOM ! You may want to upgrade your speakers.
