suspension on my 18 CVO Road Glide is way better than it was on my 15 CVO Road Glide Ultra. Day after I bought the bike I took it to dealer about crappy rear shocks, felt like it would wash out in the curves. With less then 1000 miles on the 15 I replaced the rear shocks with Ohlin to make the bike handle right in the curves.

I have over 5K on my 18 with the stock suspension. Glad it has no chrome, didn't want chrome. Do wish it had heated grips. I can take or leave the tour pack. Hearted seat, nope I hate the Hammock seat, replaced it in the first 500 miles on my 15.

Dave I'm not so sure the better path at $43,000 is to buy a RGS and build it up . All parts
are painted just add big motor and front wheel . My statement was not to offend anyone just the fact Harley is charging more for less.

Not offended.

I actually looked very hard at the 2018 Bonaville white Road glide special. Priced it out doing the 114 stage 3, CVO rear fender. The cost was 35K. Thing is you only get road glide special price at trade. I put over 20K a year on a bike so I trade at 2 years sometimes three.

With the CVO at least I get CVO money on trade. So I get more of the money spent back.

I do agree we are getting less and less for more and more money on a CVO.

This bike does not have much more than the 09 CVO road glide I bought at 31K, or the 12 CVO road glide I bought at 32K.

It has less than the 17 CVO Street glide I bought at 37K.

That said, it is really impossible to understand how sharp the paint is on the Gunship Gray unless you have seen it in the sun. A very subtle pearl in the paint.

The only CVO I have got more positive comments on was my 12 Skunk,

Dave, I agree about the paint. It’s sublime. On a sunny day it just pops. It’s not what you typically consider a CVO to look like, but I think that’s part of the appeal of the Gunship Gray. It’s not a “hey, look at me” color but it still draws attention everywhere.

Definitely not a bike to get if you don’t like drawing a crowd. I thought that being plain gray it would kind of blend in. I was wrong.

I agree.

I have had the following CVO's

09 CVO Road Glide Silver and titanium dust Traded
12 CVO Road Glide Black and white Skunk, Traded
13 CVO Road King, Anniversary edition still have
15 CVO Road Glide Ultra two tone blue Traded
17 CVO Street glide Atomic red and black Traded

18 Gunship Gray. Most subtle and understated of the 7 CVO's. Only 1 CVO that I have owned got more attention and that is the Skunk.

No one even noticed my 15. A few on the 17 and 13. Quite a few on the 09. But not even close to the Gunship Gray. Skunk has it beat but not by a lot.

Really shocks me that it draws so much attention, and not just from bike owners.

Have the same grips and just ordered Heat Demons. How did this work out for you?

Heat Demons have mixed reviews and it seems it's based on type of grip...some don't transmit heat well.
