CVO Breakout re-sale?

CVO Breakout re-sale?
so I was about to trade in my '16 CVO Breakout, but got what I thought was a low-ball trade offer on my bike. decided to keep it and sell it myself, but I noticed the market is flooded with Used CVO Breakouts, MANY of them with very low miles. (mine has 13K) I wanted to trade it in on the CVO StreetGlide, because the Breakout kills my back, but I'm wondering why: A. there are soooo many on the market used with less than 2000 miles, and B. Why they are averaging $20K asking prices when they sold a year ago for $32K. Why did so many people dislike them so soon? Any thoughts? I still LOVE mine, but I'm only good for about three hours before my back hurts so bad I can barely stand up, but that's a me thing, not a problem with the bike...

I think 3 hours on any breakout is not going to be comfortable for anyone. I have a bad back and I stop about every 60-70 miles and three hours total would still be max for me. The 17 CVO breakouts were listed at $26k which is exactly what I bought mine for in spring of 17. I've never heard of one selling for $32k but I suppose due to location they could have tacked that much on. The CVO breakouts are a very narrow market, some people like them and some people hate them. I got off a Vmax and it was the closest thing in the line up to my liking. I also looked hard at the street glide but just couldn't make the jump from sport cruiser to bagger yet, maybe down the road. I see your dilemma I wouldn't let mine go for $20k but also would expect to be severely low balled if I were to consider trading it in. I personally would keep it and maybe consider a different seat.

Here in Canada is the same story. Low km 2016 and 2017s popping up for basically MSRP.
I just bought a 2017 new off the floor. I rode a NT for 8 years so the Prostreet Breakout is basically a new version of the NT to me. I’ll ride it for days and days. Plus I didn’t want the new engine and radiator.
CVO market seems to be geezerglides and related rides so the breakout is too high priced for normal breakout shoppers and not “saddlebags and fairings†enough for the typical CVO crowd.

Doesn't really matter much what bike model, there a lots of 1 or 2 year old bikes with 3K miles or less on them for sale.
When I traded my 11 month old CVO Street Glide it had 20,526 miles on it. Dealer in next town had a used one on the floor with 2135 miles on it.
Kills those of use who actually ride the bikes we buy. Heck my 18 has 4468 miles on it, and I have been off shore working 6 weeks so far during ownership.

The BEST looking bike HD ever built.
The most uncomfortable HD I have ridden.
Could not wait to ride one down in Daytona three years ago. Got back and they asked me what I thought. Handles great, plenty of power and looks awesome. Extremely uncomfortable. Would not fit into any type of riding I do.
Congratulations on the new bike and best of luck getting what you need from the Breakout.

The answer to B is mostly November in CT. That and the MSRP was $25,699 on that bike. You paid $32k, you paid too much.
You can probably try different seats, different suspension, different bars, etc, but those are all band-aid fixes. I had a Dyna with a solo seat, stiff shocks, Hollywood bars, and forwards. I was only good for 250 miles on that bike before I was ready to park it. I could do 750+ on my Street Glide. Different bikes for different purposes...
