I agree with most of the comments. At this point in the season, dealers are mostly getting retail stickers $. You might be able to get a deal on a left over '18 once '19's are in the show room, if any are left. Or try shopping at rural HD dealers. But they rarely get CVO allocations. I paid full retail for my '17 CVOSG in May '17. But managed to negotiate in service to 10k and half of the $ for 5 yr ext warranty.

If it is true that the CVO M8 failure rate is high, I will wait until Harley comes clean on the issue OR I just won't pay a premium. I will be waiting for a dealer to offer me a CVO SG in Gunship Grey for invoice, no freight, no setup, and add in a 5 year extended warranty.....oh yeah and a nice trade in value on my stock 2017 SGS.

Slight disagreement here.....I've had a couple of dealers reach out to me on this board to try to sell me a bike. I personally know of two local dealers who have multiple CVO SG's in stock. Also, a CVO owner posted a thread on the M8 board that 10% of CVO M8 engines are failing. I cannot substantiate that number. He may be crazy as hell as far as I know.

I know of far more failures on the CVO 110 engines. Two of the four CVO 110 bikes owned had lifter failure, and on the 15 it took out the engine with 44K miles on it, just short of 2 years old.

There will be deals out there but you will have to work for them and search your butt off. I bought my 2016 in June of 2016 and was able to get $4500 off. But I bought over $3k of accessories (header, tuner and exhaust plus a few other must haves) so that may have helped them go lower. They still made good money, they have a **** ton of markup on them but i have never heard of one selling at invoice but that is part of the reason the CVO holds it value so well. if they were selling them for invoice you would lose $12k the second you signed the papers.

If you really want one go find one and get it... I know this sounds like B.S. but you can't expect to get a cvo Harley Davidson the same way you shop for a regular production bike. Its not for everyone its a luxury bike. I know people get good deal's on them all the time... blah blah blah, go get your bike.
