I had an 02 Road King Classic that I put 60k miles on and went way overboard customizing. I bought my ‘15 SGS new and blacked it out the first winter I had it. I love the bike but keep finding myself looking at 2014 CVO Road Kings. I’ve never been a fan of the CVO bikes. Always saw them as cookie cutter but then again, they all are these days. I enjoy the music on the SGS but with Bluetooth technology today, I can get cleaner sound that way.
I like the CVO's but when I bought my 14 RK, I couldn't afford a CVO. So I did the next best thing, Added all the CVO components I liked, wheels, dash, seats, bags and added some SGS tins. Get the CVO,,, you can find them pretty reasonable now.
I tell you, I don't miss the stereo. May be that over the years, my hearing is down about 25% and I liked loud mufflers, so they I had to have the stereo up so loud, I felt it was damaging my ears even further. Now I just listen to the wind with quieter mufflers.
