2018 CVO Limited - Tour Pak Removal Options and Seat Questions
Looking to do the quick detach kit for the Tour Pak on my 2018 CVO Limited. I know HD makes a full kit for this bike, but I'm looking at other ideas. The key factors are that I will need to add extra lighting as the CVO limited only has the single center fender light - so no blinkers once the Tour Pak is removed (Custom Dynamics? Ciro?). I'd also need to do something with the license plate too that looks good (lay down, moved below the tail light, etc). Fire away at ideas aside from the HD kit.
Seat:
The CVO Limited seat is comfortable....BUT.....I need to lower myself and move back some. I tried talking with Mean City Cycles, but they will not touch a CVO seat. I want to keep the seat heater, and the wife loves the comfort of her seat - so going narrower or much less cushion is out of the question for her seat. Me though.....I miss sitting lower and farther back like I used to on my RGS. What are my options - with keeping heat, and the wife's pad similar to what she has now?

You can get Custom Dynamics, Ciro 3D or Harley saddlebag lights that will do run, brake and turn so that will take care of your lights. You can buy the HD tag relocation bracket separately that comes in the detach kit and that will take care of the tag. As for the seat unless you try and aftermarket seat with heat you will limited on who will rework your stock CVO seat. There are two that I know of that will rework your seat, they are Russel Day Long and High Rollers. High Rollers is in Winston Salem NC and you can google Russel Day Long.
Removing the TP is just removing 4 bolts and unplugging a few harnesses. If you use Sirius no need ro worry about a radio antenna. It might take 10 minutes the first time you take it off. I did this on my ‘17 CVO Limited and it worked out really well. Plus when you do use the TP you’ll have extra lighting on your saddlebags.
Good Luck..
