Hello Sir,
Do you still have the heavy breather from your 117? https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hdf...f51164212d.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hdf...a2b81e45f7.jpg |

I believe it will fit with about 1/2 inch clearance to your speakers on the lowers

It will fit with the factory lowers and speakers, there isn't much space and it really doesn't look good with the lowers on. I run my lowers in the early spring and also in the late fall early winter with the stock intake that came on my 18 CVO street glide. But I run the heavy breather all summer while I have my lowers off. To me, that gives you the best of both worlds factory set up looks great with the lowers but to me I love the look of the heavy breather so the lowers come off pretty quick and the Heavy Breather goes on for most of the year.

unless the speakers are aftermarket and you used spacers to get them in, you'll be fine for the fit
i think that breather looks goofy with lowers on the bike though, I've seen the set up at my dealership.....the heavy breather has an aesthetic that makes it look like it's pointing forward and scooping up air.....the illusion is killed when it swoops forward and then terminates right before lower fairing |

Bill This may be an ignorant question because I have never removed the lowers. When you remove the lowers, what do you do with the cables that are connecting the speakers to the GTS radio? Do they simply unplug from the back of the radio? Or do you just wrap them up and leave them in the fairing? Do you have to have the dealership flash the radio to indicate you only have 4 speakers instead of six? |
There is a third amp to power those lowers.... remove cable leading to amp, and amp and speakers.... then If you are sticking with boom crap.... the dealer has a 4 speaker flash

That makes sense. However, this means that if I want to take the lowers off in the spring and put that back on in the fall, I have to have the dealership flash my bike twice a year. Correct?
