Question On Weather radar thru Nav.
Have a 17 CVO was curious if anyone uses the weather portion on the Navigation that supposed to show the fronts. I've read that it only updates every 20 min. to 25 min. I've left mine
up when riding over the weekend but never seems to connect or change. It just seems to put a green overlay over your viewing area.
I know sirius has a subscription for weather are the two related. Couldn't find any info, I did look. Appreciate any help...Thanks

'19 CVO here and the weather overlay is mostly flashy bull ****. I never use it and rarely even bring it up. The fronts are always WAY too big and don't resize, and the refresh rate is slow or non exsistant. Not worth the cost for sure, I'm ditching the Weather and Traffic when the trial is over.

i use the weather section on satellite radio xm . i am please with it . it shows me where the fronts are and radar if its raining.
nothing is perfect if its raining 10 miles west of here sometimes it goes east sometimes it goes north or south. i don't have a degree in meteorology or complain to much but it shows where its raining now.
i don't stare at it while i"m driving and usually flip back to reg navigation map, but i do know where the front or rain is . i may flip back after 20 minutes and see where it is now but it works for me except when i predict where its heading or how long it will take to get here just like the goof on your local weather.

Just a heads up, called Sirius told them I bought a bike that already had Sirius installed. Told them I was inquiring about cost, not sure I was subscribing or not so they gave me a subscription for three months for free just to try. So if anyone's interested in trying it for free might try the same route. Just my 2c..

I use the hell out of it. SiriusXM weather and traffic. $35/year, not a problem. We ride enough that the Select package and weather and traffic are great things to have. $140/year for both. I've spent way more for way less elsewhere.
There are times when I'm trying to avoid getting actually rained on and use the weather radar map to avoid pockets of heavy downpour. It kept us from riding through a front at one point, we sat out in a cracker barrel and because of the weather radar we knew it was only the one line of cells. We've been chased by t-storms and because it updates so frequently we knew we were going to make it home dry, but just barely.
Hell yeah, I update that every year.
