Default Windshield water Repellant

When it rains I can't see crap. I know you cannot use Rain X because it will damage the windshield. Is there anything out there that can be safely used to repell the water off the windshield?
Thanks

Wax and buff the windshield makes water bead up and increases clarity.

I just bought a package of Windshield Water Repellent Treatment wipes at the dealer that is supposed to work like Rain-x but is made for the Lexan windshields. A friend of mine recommended the wipes after he ruined a windshield with Rain-x.

Plexus works for me. I even put it on shield of my full face helmet. It's great stuff.
