I have a sound in my FXDSE2...been there for the past year...and it really sounds like a valve slapping. It is more apparent at lower RPMs or when the engine apprioaches lugging. I have taken it to the HD Stealers and thet say it is nothing other than normal sound. It just bothers me like a bee in my shirt. Anyone else experiencing this? Any suggestions? Jim

 

Same thing with my 2007 FXDSE, same results as you have received, oh its normal. When I manage to save a few more $$$ I am goning to change the cams yet again and go with the "Black Opt" lifters, they say http://www.head-quarters.com/html/lifters.html

I am taking my FXDSE2 to work today and stopping off at another Stealership in Christensburg, VA to let them test ride it after the bike has been on the highway for 30 miles and see what they say. If I do decide on the Black Ops lifters, will HD do them or will i need to take them somewhere else? My guess is HD will only use HD products. Jim

 

Sorry I just saw your reply, I don't know if the dealership will install them or not, but I am sure that you can find one that will, if they did not install nothing but HD parts they could not sell and install exhaust, seats, or any accessories. If it were me, I would ask one of the techs, they seem to know more than the managers anyway.
