From my perspective I think you will get binding in your rear wheel if you tighten the axle nut to eliminate...

I had the same noise in my Roadking. It turned out to be a loose compensater bolt . The bike only made the noise at idle when warm . I had to replace the bolt and compensater to get rid of the noise .
