Spend a few years kicking over big inch stroker motors any worry about the kickstand are a non starter, you kinda have to get violent with some of the bigger hi-comp engines to get them to roll over....

Problem is the older charging system doesn't put out enough amperage for the newer AGM & Lio-Ion batteries, the old 17 & 22 amp regulators just don't kick out the umph they need to stay maintained....

Best thing you can do for that bike is a tank of premium and ride it like you mean it for a while, blow out the cobwebs so to speak. Most used bikes suffer from under use more than abuse.
