I'll take your word for it since I never had crash bars to deal with. Maybe there's something slightly different between the 17's and 18's. The ad from the Harley site shows them with the crash bars....

Congrats! I've been retired for a year and my present to myself was an '18 Deluxe. Couldn't be happier. Love being able to go from a bare bike to light duty touring in 5 minutes.
