Battery eliminator?
Please help me put this to rest - I've been trying to find out if it's possible to install a battery eliminator in my custom 78 shovelhead. The motor is mostly a stock set up, and it does NOT have a magneto.
I have an anti gravity battery mounted underneath the bike, but I would like to eliminate the entire thing. So far I have not been able to find anything.
Am I beating a dead horse?

the type of charging system you have on the harley is not able to energize the coil via points or trigger ignition it needs a power source ie battery / mag is a self source and it is what has been used for 100 plus years for just this starting abilty with out the use of a battery - even the generator bikes were not able to do this even tho the mag is a generatoring source sooooo NO you cant with out a mag
