Hoping you guys can help direct me with this. So far I've just been chasing a rabbit. ok...Hit starter and hear slow grinding noise...engine tries to turn over but won't. Check battery (new) and showing 12. Check starter, it was dragging. Replace both starter and solenoid. Still won't turn over...just drags as though battery is about to give out. Thought that maybe it's the switch. Tried jumping from the starter to the solenoid. Nothing. What have I overlooked or what am I doing wrong? I would appreciate the help. Thanks.

 

Did you try bypassing the solenoid all together and hook right up too the stater. try that and see what happens...if it still turns slow maybe a ground issue or motor problems

 

Check the battery again, You say it reads 12 ... 12 what 12.6 12.7 12.8, ?
If its 12.6 and under its a bad battery, Even new batteries go bad..

Not enough...12.6 + is what yer lookin for.
12.3 is Half and 12.0 is dead junk.
What does it measure when you push the button? when you turn the key on?

 

this is the second thread and in both you were told the NEW battery is the cause are you going to go for three threads

maybe 4 threads would help
