Default New to me 1982 FXR, questions

Hello again all. Purchased 1982 FXR, dont have bike in my possession yet, but have a question. Bike has ignition switch on the tank console (it appears bike has fatbob tanks), but owner has no key. I wanted to order a new ignition switch ASAP. Does anyone know what switch would be correct? It is the chrome switch with the lid that flips open to expose the key slot. Are all of these switches similar?

Thanks.

The one you have is Not Correct for an FXR.
The FXR keyswitch is located under the tank on the left side, just behind the petcock!

hard question to answer w.o. knowing what's there now. DOT 5 was not stock so you can't w.o. completely flushing the system. BUT if a PO did that already you can.
DOT 3 & 4 dissolve in water, DOT 5 doesn't. Put a few drops from your m.c. in a shot glass of water, shake well, and see what happens.

I guess my memory is shot - thought my 1982 used the old stuff.

Regardless, you never know what is in an old bike without actually checking it...

If it opens to the side it's a newer swith.
I don't know much about those, buy a buddy had an early Road King twin cam and the switch opened to the side
