Default New To Me "77 FXE"

Not new to Harleys but this is my first shovelhead. The last month or so I've been jonesing for a shovel and through a friend of mine ( Dave) i found what was looking for. I think we both got a fair deal. Needs nothing and is in very good condition. I have only seen this same video of the bike and have no other pics but was ensured that it's in very good condition. I'll post more pics once get her home. Her name is Gracie and don't see a need to change that. I'm in the process of getting new home so it won't bee till after Christmas before can get her home.

Hopefully she'll bring back the memories of the first Harley i ever rode, I was only fifteen and the bike was my friends (Mike) 72 Superglide.

Tell me did all the older shovels come with S&S carbs cause that's all I ever see on them. I love the S&S E, that what I use on my 98 evo but will soon become a G....

So if anyone has tips, suggestions or info on frequent issues with this model and year it would be greatly appreciated. Thanx Bob.

Bike sounds good. Not a fan of shotgun pipes. Definitely losing some horsepower with that. The S&S carb was a period non-factory upgrade, not a factory accessory. Shovels same with Bendix and Kehein carbs which ran okay but didn't have the throttle response you got from the S&S...consider it a performance upgrade I guess.

You still running points, or was it upgraded to electronic?

What do you have as far as history on the motor and tranny? I would assume that at some point unleaded valves and valve seals were added when the top end was done.
