I have an 82 FXE that is in need of a full motor rebuild. Bottom and top end. I am also making it as new as possible. New brake lines, electrical, powder coating the frame, etc...

My question is this. I am putting a new motor in my 2011 dyna. The motor coming out needs a bottom end rebuild, but thats it. Can i make they dyna motor fit and work in my shovelhead frame? Will it work with the shovel transmission or can i do something to make it work?

 

About 100x easier to rebuild the Shovel motor. Nothing, and I mean nothing will fit or mate up. You can make it work with an ungodly amount of fabrication/effort and we would love to watch your build thread, but I would not recommend it to a friend. Good luck with both bikes.

 

Cannot stuff an evo or a twinkie motor into a shovelhead frame without cutting & welding modifications and the twinkies it's major, new frame would be cheaper and stronger when done.
