Default 1978 FXS Early vs LATE ?

Sorry for bringing up this old point. I've read previous posts about this and it's still fairly confusing. I know based on my VIN on my frame that I have a FXS-1200, 1978 Shovel. What I wanted to know is whether my production number is considered fairly high, it's 67092. I'm assuming this is a 78 1/2 shovel based on this high number. I'll have a look at the case number when I get home to try and get some more clear information. Anyone have a higher number on theirs?

Late 78 shovel had factory electronic ignition. I don't know if there were any other changes.

My VIN 9D75***H8 is a late 1978 FXE

1978 was a funky year for shovelheads, they changed up 3 times that year so what the VIN might say and what you actually have my well be different, I've seen some funny stuff once the motor gets opened up. Good luck.

Ha thanks! I'm finding all sorts of previous owner hack jobs and quick repairs. It's going to be fun getting this old girl running right.

Also, fairly certain based on all the information I've read that it's a 78 1/2 shovel.
