Default Caliper, Master Cylinder, or just Air?

77 FLH with the single piston Banana Calipers

Ok first a little break down, When I pull the break leaver there is nothing but take up until about 1in from the throttle where you fill the plunger going forward and will go all the way to the throttle. It does apply the brake. With the caliper off the rotor, I do see / feel the piston moving. (very little distance) I have pushed the piston out as far as I can get it after about 30-40 pumps, removing the dust boot looking down to the seal I am not seeing any rust or grim holding it. (Don’t know about on the other side of the seal) using a block and C-clamp pushed the caliper back in a little. The first pull of the brake leaver I feel the leaver start to move the plunger in the master cylinder immediately and its where I get the biggest movement in the caliper piston. Now on any following squeezes on the leaver it is back to me having nothing but take up until about an 1in before the throttle.

Now could this be the just air in the line and I have not bleed them enough or need to rebuild the master cylinder, or the caliper?

Default Pickup a vacuum bleeder kit

get one inexpensive and you can bleed system by your self and if you still have no pressure after that then master is out

From your description it seems as though you have air in the system. before you invest in a bleeder kit, check out Speed Bleeders. Pretty much foolproof and very simple to use.
