Default 1981 FLT Engine burning too lean

I have recently replaced the muffled exhaust pipes on this bike - a 1981 FLT 1340cc, to "straight pipes" (had to replace, became shoddy). Started giving problems, and I followed some advice (changed the jets to .48 and 1.95 respectively). The following unwanted results still prevail:
* plugs tend to splash "wet" at stop streets
* rear plug much lighter in colour than front plug (I understand that it is
normal), but
* rear plug burns very light on NGK plugs (Champion not readily available
where i am - Namibia, Africa), i.e.
** NGK plug No 6 burns very light caramel (front very dark, and
"wettish")
** All other numbers (No 5, 7 and 8) burns white-ish

Will changing timing have the desired effect? Any advice will help, please.
Regards
Anton

Yes! check your timing after rejetting and you have to adjust your air fuel mixture also...and check gap on plugs.... how many miles on the motor?

Forgot to mention you have to check for a vacuume leak, get a spray bottle put some water and spray around the intake manifold (easy) and see if the idle changes...if so check your manifold gaskets.....after any repairs re time and re check your air fuel mixture...if you had a vacuume leak then you might have to put the old jet back

^^^^ My first thought always, check for intake leaks.

I'm so bad at typing a repair vs just listening to a motor and just fixing it...I try to help out...

no telling how good or bad the gas is in your country so back the timing off - put the line / dots in front of the hole not the center
