the early and late cam covers are different in the pinion area bushing - 36/72 - 73 / 84

the cam is a pre 1977 so its correct - the oil pump gearing could have been up dated from the 24 verses the 25 tooth drive and driven gears as a set - in 73 they upped the oil pump speed 25 percent or so to help the hydraulic lifters stay pumped up
. See the bushing in the cover that says 70 doesn't fit

that is because you have an end oil pinion shaft 1973 up shovel

thats what I figured it probably just got swapped so 73 up should work
