Cam Choice in Mostly Stock 74
Hello All,
I'm thinking about putting a different cam in my 73 FLH. I just want a little more power, especially in the mid range. What are the cams of choice nowadays? I just want a bolt in. Bike has the stock hydraulic lifters. Only changes that I know of in the motor and drive, if it makes a difference, is that it has an electronic ignition and primary belt. BTW, I tried to put a VThunder cam in it a couple of years ago. That cam was for a 70-77 stock motor. It wouldn't fit because someone had changed the cam gearing and put a "S" cam in it. As I understand it, that cam was used during the later shovel years. Wouldn't fit because of a slightly different size gear. So the cam I would use would be for a 77 and up, if that makes any sense.
Thanks.
