1980 FXWG location of Directional Flasher
Hi folks,
Got my 1980 FXWG back home and starting to work on it. I replaced the fork mounted turn signals that was missing. The turn signals are working intermittently and I think the Directional Flasher needs to be reseated or replaced. Where is this located? I can hear the flasher. I am still looking for the shop manual for this bike.

Not much help as I am totally rewiring my 1980 FXWG with a solid state control module, but when I dismantled mine there were three original looking relay/flasher units located right underneath the speedo console.
I also had a flasher unit under the seat wired into the terminal block, but the bikes wiring had been hacked about over the years so I just pulled it all and didn't bother figuring out what was what....

It's pricey, but it lets you simplify the wiring immensely and brings an old bike right into the 21st century electrically. It's worth downloading the manual from their site and having a look at the wiring diagram examples in it.

Yep - I am doing the whole thing from scratch. I am using a control module from Motogadget called "m-Unit Blue" which is a solid state replacement for all the fuses, relays, flashers etc.... also has a built in alarm and immobiliser and allows you to program behaviour of turn signal and brake lights amongst other stuff..
