Default Went with 150 16 on this

Has rigid frame installed a 150 16 on rear had to use offset rear sprocket and made spacers to adjust wheel to track

The bike with the goodyears is almost surely an MT-90....about the same as a 130

That's what I'm saying... no need for a 180 for that look. 130 is enough, and 150 just fine if he really wants a wider tire

I agree its not a 180, I knew that. Its like the tire my bike currently has. The old school narrow tire look really suits the bike, more than any 300 tire would for example. Just posted the pics of those two bikes I really dig so Im leaning that way. They're inspiring me.

My current rear says 5.10-16

metsler make a 140 / 16 that with alloy primary's that fits up nice, unlike a tin primary set up wider is not so much an issue, as they can be pushed out a bit to not hit anything

I've got a 160 tire on a 5" rim and I run an 1/4" offset trans sprocket with open belt (and matching spacer on the hub). Letters on the side of the tire get rubbed off. Fender needs to be widened too.
I think 150 on stock rim should fit right in (maybe some rubbing on the inner primary)

Default Wide Tire

I picked up this 83 FLHS about a year ago and the PO or Builder installed wider wheels and tires. The wheels are the AKRONT 4.25 X 18 40 spokes with Avon 130/80 18's. That is absolutely the widest you can go on this bike with no offsetting. This bike also has the final belt drive as opposed to a final chain drive. Space between tire side of the fender is so limited, no fingers can get in between which means no room for any kind of protruding hardware unless you want those tires cut. Looks cool as hell but turning / leaning the bike is a bit of work and definitely a learning curve. Front end definitely feels heavy and maybe a bit more stiff? This is compared to the 78 FLH I have but again, the 78 has had a sidecar attached to it for the past 11 years so this is going to be different anyway. Also compared to my Roadking is night and day. The closest I could come to comparing it to would be the 78 if I were to pull the sidecar off and readjust the triple tree. Nonetheless, still a lot of fun to ride and I get compliments whenever I have her out.
