Default Tribal knowledge tell me if this looks right

This is alleged to be a 1 owner original 1979 FXEF. I am learning about pre Evo shovels and developing an evil desire to bring a stablemate home for my ***-raped 78 FXE.
Is there anything that stands out to those of you about this bik

Specifically, I'm looking for non-stock/or non-original parts/ mods.
TIA

Longer than stock tubes on it by at least 4", check the neck and the front frame downtubes to see if it's been screwed with if so pass on it unless your comfortable with a modded bike. Tanks aren't stock for that year and maybe the carb's been changed the but the rest from what little the pics show looks basically intact. I'd want to hear it run if he whats any amount of money for it.

looks like overstock forks , replaced tank divider cover (with one the doesn't actually fit!) , new seat , where's the horn ? , replaced exhaust and air cleaner cover , removed all signals . ignition coil cover removed .
pics i see online are divided between spoked and 9 spoke cast wheels . might have been optional .

so nothing too horribly expensive or hard to replace to get it close to original condition .

That's definitely not the original seat, pipes air cleaner and derby cover. The frame has been repainted so for some reason it's been completely stripped. The battery cover is an add on and it looks like the original tanks have been swapped out for aftermarket 5 gal. I think the 79 model also came standard with the a passenger backrest and brackets but I can't be sure.

Hope that gets you pointed in the right direction.

Thanks for the replies! I expected a few things to have been changed from stock, I just don't know what to look for. My first Harley was a new 1992 Dyna. These old shovels have some character. After buying a roached 78 and getting it back on the street, I'm wanting to do it again.

Seller for this one is asking $6500.. $4500-5000 seems more in the ballpark in my area. If he is in fact the original owner, he'll need to understand his sentiment doesn't have financial value.

Whats the deal with mid controls through the primary on this vs my wide glide with forward controls? Was it an option?

IF it runs maybe, $3500 to $4k is more in line with what I'm seeing as lots will need attention and money spent R&Ring the tired stuff.
