On my 86 fxwg i was told they no longer used 4 umbrellas and to install only 2 to the center.can anyone confirm this .ive always installed 4 that comes with the top end kit.thanks...

 

Are you talking about the umbrella valves in The Rocker assemblies? You obviously must have to head breathers and don't need the bottom breather for your motor but 86's where a bottom breather. Somebody put newer style cylinder heads on it making it a top breather. Yes you need Umbrella valves, only 2 and yes in the side of the head towards the intake.... Do you have a manual? Might want to get one if you're doing this kind of work. Also you might want to post this in the Evo section not the Shovelhead section...
