Default Customizing Rear Brake Mount / Bracket

In trying to replace the crusted up old banana caliper that came with my '75 FXE, I've come in to a number of nice brake parts, unfortunately none of them work together...

The closest I've found is this Ultima caliper, which has the same bolt pattern as PM, and this (Wilwood?) mount, which fits in every way except the holes don't quite line up.

Attachment 620757

Since I can't fit a nut on the backside, simply opening up the threaded hole isn't an option.

Any clever workarounds that have been attempted in similar situations? I'm tempted to fill the holes with weld and redrill/tap but I've heard horror stories of chipped metal that way. Thanks!

with china metal its always a thing - but we would weld it then use a time sert if you don't like the drill and tap, some work out ok after welding, as the bracket is usually made from different material then the caliper - that is not happy about being welded
