Default 1971 Super Glide Club

I have a fully restored 1971 boat tail. I keep “hearing” that there is some kind of association or club for boat tail owners? I’ve searched through Google and can’t find anything. Can anyone help?

That is a real nice bike!!!

Boattails have grown on me over the years. 20 years ago i would have yanked that fender right off, now I dig it. But i have no info for your question. Have you tried reaching out to the AMCA?

Didnt Sportsters have those boattails also back in 1970 or so? Anyway yes, those early Shovel Superglides are cool, if there isnt a club, Im sure you could start one. Probably wouldnt take much, and it would be a cool side gig. have a little patch and discounts to JP cycles, a couple of annual rallys to meet up at, and yeah, how much work could it be?

I saw that secret club referenced in a couple auction descriptions, where they guy said his was the second best in the country according to the president of the club. If that's the case, I wouldn't want to be a part of the club, because they obviously don't know much. There were a lot of things that were incorrect on that particular bike.... It would have been lucky to get in the 90's at an AMCA judging.
