Default 1979 Electra Glide Shovelhead

I recently bought a 1979 Electra Glide Shovelhead and the frame isn't equipped for a simple aftermarket seat. My bike is currently set up for a comfort flex seat or a simple solo seat, anyway I hate both of those seats.. The comfort flex seat sits me too high in the air and the solo seat is uncomfortable as hell. I was looking to purchase a Corbin seat however I don't know how to make it work to fit the bike. May I please get any advice from anyone on how to make it work?

A 1979 frame takes aftermarket seats no problem
The seat usually has one or two tabs that slide under frame at the Y

I think what are are saying is you do not have a place to screw down the back of the seat on the fender? If so you have to source one from your local dealership and drill the fender. No biggie.

On my '80 I took appox half of the padding out of the seat and lost no part of comfort , put my butt a little closer to the ground and did not lower bike , lost no part of ride

I see no reason for H-D to have a seat so thick

Push down on the seat with your thumb and see how far it goes

Take the Pogo out and you can run aftermarket, actually I have a Lepera Bare Bones I used with the Frame inserts that you can buy from a hardware store. they are rubber with a threaded brass insert they go in each side of the frame in the through frame hole's. This is the setup I have and ran for years

That is exactly right but I was told my hikb is so original and close to mint condition it would be a shame drilling a hole in it

You can attach a regular solo seat using the plugs that 72FL mentioned and add one of those suction cup passenger seats. She won't be real happy though...

[edit:] I see by your other post you are trying to make the comfy seat work. Good idea!
