Default Tire Recommendations

Putting an almost original 1978 FXE back together. Wasn't exactly treated nicely but it can only be original once and I am doing my best to keep it that way...warts and all.

That said I am looking for some recommendations for the front and rear tire (19/16). It's a 1200 cc so it is not as though we are going to be tearing up corners and such.

The only Indie I have shopped at here in San Jose (Road Rider) has closed shop after almost 50 years, so I figure mail order is going to be happening.

And along with tires, how about who has the best prices on tires and delivery charges.

Thanks in advance.....

If you are looking for something that "looks" original, Coker is the way to go. They give discounts to AMCA members and they attend a lot of events, they will bring your order and save you shipping costs. Rim strips and tubes as well. What was on it originally in 1978?

Coker is Good... good as any... There is another, for tires, Darn it, May be Kenda or some other Import ... I do Not recall now..
By '78 Mags Wheels were a vailable.. My '74 has Morris Mags, [probably Dealer Replaced]. But I mean the 9 spokers.

It occurs to me that there was a Guy who used to be on Chop Cult [not now] who did a Spectacular job on a '77 FXS.. I believe... tires and all..
Maybe My Youngest still knows how to get ahold of him... he knew the options

The "super Classic looks like the old GoodYear double stripe whitewall.

Like John, I love my Avons. Feels like I'm glued to the road in corners. They are a little softer and may not last as long??? but my '41 is not my daily ride so not a real concern.
