Just want to thank everyone who chimed in on several recent threads dealing with my starter problems.

1. All of you who said my bendix/pinion was turning the right way were, ahem, correct. Ok...dyslexia sucks!

2. The starter either benefitted from undercutting the commutator or moving the brushes around. One of those did the trick. Yeah, the bendix would just stop on the clutch shell ring gear and didn’t have enough oomph to crank the engine. I found an old post dealing with same problem and brush order matters. I had neg and positive brushed right, but moving them 90 degrees did the trick. Doesn’t make sense, but bike cranks so who cares, right?
