1985 electra glide classic
hello brothers..got a question i hope i can get some help with
bout a week ago i parked the glide..it rained while i was at work and the ole lady didn't cover it..went out Fri night to go for a ride turned the switch to ignition and nothing...no lights no nothing
i check the 35amp inline and it was fine replaced the 40 amp 5 prong maxi fuse still nothing...i'm thinking the switch is bad???

Ummmmmm, you referring to an EVO model? Never heard of a 35 or a 40 amp in-line fuse on a Shovel motor. Seen 2 and 3 prong maxi fuse but never 5-ptong before.
That said, do you have engine spark? If not check battery voltage and battery condition. Also check to make sure connections are tight (especially ground strap).
And the HD FLT/FXR shop manual 84-90 has a whole section on trubleshooting electrical.

two things do this - one the battery terminals are not tight enough and the humid air and water you lost a good connection
second thing - under the bike in the center between the motor and trans is the main ground strap as the bike is rubber mounted - it goes from a cross brace just under the trans bolted to the center to the bottom center rear primary bolt going from the trans housing to the inner primary - one side or the other is even a little bit loose you loose everything like you have as well as battery connections
