the compression trapped is called - static

and lobe separation comes into play in this as well as lobe center - low center numbers is the low engine speed grunt

a bbc chevy race engine with a 108 cam center will blow the tires off trying to leave the line but a 110 wont

but the 108 out a corner racing will blast off the corner and down the straight out in front of a 110 even though the 110 is faster up hi in the RPMs

remember leinwebers open/close numbers are .020 not .053
We're pretty much talkin stock cubes here not some over stroked Shovel... I'm sure your compression (static) is way the hell up there @59*.. Don't confuse people...

can I make a suggestion? visit leinwebers cam selection site

-- http://www.leinewebercams.com/PG4_SH...4wfall2016.pdf -- look at the top -- see where it says .020? and .053??

he checks his duration @ .020 every other cam maker uses .053 -- so when you see a closing of 59 its not 59 as your thinking --

maybe YOUR confused but most of us know the difference -- the L3S is for stock 74's and stock 80's --

like your evo in the pic --( nice bike by the way ) I have a 1984 evo-- fxrs its 10:5:1 just a 80" - I use this cam

E5S - IN .544 40/54 - 274 duration --
EX .544 68/26 -- .274 -- THE actual duration @ .53 is 242 -- Mr. Jims cam timing is what confusing to most till you understand -- ask johnjzjz -- twisted - they will show you what is ment ..

that E5S is really killer in a stock 80" evo I used the TP roller rockers

Even though the duration is stated at .020" the timing of the cam doesn't change...? Does it...? I mean the intake valve still starts to open@35* and close@59*... Doesn't it?

Thanks on the Evo comment.. I have a lot in that thing...

this is my 84 fxrs - not as Purdy as yours but it does have a s*it load of hp -

the cams from leinweber are measured @ 20 going up the lobe not 53 so yeah it changes the numbers where it begins to lift and close

we concentrate only on the advertised duration as that is the real lobe story - as its off the base circle
