Does my stock 1977 FXE have a single or dual fire ignition? I want fit a different tach on the bike and that is always the first question.

Shouldn’t a stock 77 have points? You said stock, correct? I thought electronic ignition was introduced in 1979. If it was converted to electronic, then yes, dual fire as John stated.

Yes a stock 77 should have points (originally). A 2 wire connection coil is Dual fire and a 3 wire connection coil is Single fire..
