Default superglide tank on flh

I have a 78 FLH. I'm curious if anybody has photos of a Superglide turtle tank on an flh and how it mounts. I've seen the JP mount kit, but I can't quite picture how it fits. Will the tank fit over the frame tank mounts?

You got to give HD some credit on the"turtle" tank concept. They basicallyt kept a stock FLH frame and designed a gas tank and accessory parts to help give the FX/E series its unique look (love it or leave it). I do not know when MoCo gave the FX series their total separtate frame but in 1978 there were still using a lot of the original FL/H frame.

Pics are from my 1978 FXE that is damn near stock.

Correctly mounted it should look like this...

mplecha, glad it hepls. Didn't know anyone made the aftermarket accessories for these tanks. Good to know. Also, you will dicover that with new rubber, getting the clip and spring in place will be difficult. I ended up having to use long needle nose pliers to get that stupid spring in place. Took several tries.

Can't remember where I saw them... prolly J&P but there are Mounting stuff available...
I refuse to use the damn Spring for 30 plus years now... Was taught by a greybeard to us an Oring... Proper length of course... hook one side pass 'er under the frame, and Hook the other end of the [now Doubled] O-ring... Much better for me...and don't eat the paint off the Frame...YMMV
