69 Electra Glide Generator Shovelhead
Just just acquired this 69 Generator Shovelhead. Great bike to ride and enjoy...hard to believe it’s 50 years old. The previous owner did a wonderful job with the restoration. I plan on taking the bike to shows but she will be ridden regularly!

Nice bike. I had one in '78, bought it for $1600. Rode it home. Rode it for two years, sold it for$2100. Wish I never sold it.

Nice Genny, looks good wish you a lot of luck with her.
PS your luggage rack is on backwards, unbolt and rotate 180 degrees, it will look better. |
nice pan shovel my favorite the reason they call it a pan shovel is because
it has a pan head bottom end and shovel top you got the best of both worlds |
Thanks for checking out my bike. Will get that rack switched. Bike just arrived from Arizona last week... I’m becoming more familiar the bike and sorting out some things

if you are going to have it judged AMCA you have a lot of work to do - if your staying local like a Harley dealer show it will do well
|
Bike was not built for AMCA...so don’t judge me...LOL!
|
Looks like a nice rebuilt "custom". Being that it is no longer stock, I think that changing out the seat would be in order. That buddy seat looks out of place with the way it is set up. The solo tractor seat would make a really big appearance difference.

Yes, I’m not a fan of this seat...makes the ride very tall...(which I am not). The new seat will be installed in a few days....should make a dramatic difference in overall appearance and comfort of the bike.
You are correct, bike is not stock, not 100% original...it has been rebuilt & repainted...and I ride it .... a lot! It is whatever it is...not sure why we have to put a definition or classification on everything...not trying to misrepresent to the purists out there. I am very pleased with the bike...not worried about judging, prizes, “patina”, NOS, and all of that. This motorcycle puts a smile on my face ... it’s that simple. |
good on you in that's the way you feel about the bike
but the guys on here would direct you if you were in fact going the totally original route and any thing that comes up just ask plenty of help |
