Had to go a bit bigger on holes than I wanted 11/16 ....made steel bushing knurled them froze them and pressed in ... reamed back to 1/2 . Might go a bit bigger now that caliper is sliding on steel not aluminum. One more to do. At least they got them square ...

Thanks. Trying a couple different bushings for the single pin rear one. Have some Delrin. Might turn a piece on lathe push that in there. Might be quiet with no springs.... made a bronze one...think it might be brittle and crack. I did get it real square ...now new brake line and pads.
I hate these posts...auto correct changes everything around. Proof read 2 many times...

I swore I wouldn’t take this one apart. WTH. 2 hours later making new oil lines and freshening up starter. New throw out bearing....gaskets seal. Rotor...lol. Even dug around in my boxes to see if I had parts for a kicker install.....nope must have given that stuff to somebody. This is not a restoration ...just a parts chaser....Didn’t even sell the 77 yet. Lmao

Johns fault for putting FLH ideas in my damn head Yep that’s my new excuse....

it looks like it has a 22 tooth front drive sprocket if so put a 23 on it - guess the rear is a 51

no one can tell me an FX is a better looking machine then an FLH - but of course I am partial

I have an 81 FLT that I'm re-doing. Barn find with new parts. Worked 3 months thru the winter putting it together. Top end was done 800 miles before being put up so I've left that alone. Has an S&S Super "E" carb I just rebuilt.

Runs well, no smoke and the motor is quiet. Brakes are OK at best. Only complaint about the bike is the damn scissor seat, I hate it. Any replacement ideas /suggestions? Love old bikes and I have 3 of them. Just can't seem to part with any,,,yet. Nice FLH, fun to re-do these things.

Thanks another thing to do...but to be honest the sprocket looks done and used up so I’ll go find one...thanks again John. I kinda always had and ultra or flh laying around . But the shovels I never traveled far so just kept fxe around.
this was the last stroker ...let it go last year. Missed the damn thing.
but thinking might have to hit swap meets and put boards on this one....gettin old so FLH Is kinda my liking now

My problem I keep putting together than somebody has to have it more than I do.....maybe because this 82 isn’t worth much I’ll just keep it....I hope. Lol

have a set of 4 - 5/8 wheels kicking around I do believe and with 3 - 1/2 pistons makes 86 inches - I prefer the inches to the bore older engines - plus a long duration cam - no porting no crazy size valves just old school stroker - fun the way they pull but not going to scare anyone
