Lonesum,
The wire we are talking about can be seen in post #91
It goes from the positive side battery terminal to the starter relay I believe.

The wires to relay should be brown, green, black & a little black ground strap. The yellow should run with a red and a orange (brake switch)running up to nuteral lite wire black and then into a conduit with rear lights and blinker wires, should be straped about half way up the seat post tube The only wires comming off the positive post should be red, brown.

Can see it better in this picture from a while ago
[img]blob:https://www.hdforums.com/99d38f01-bc38-47e8-a822-c72396beb61c

I think it痴 that one coming out from underneath now I pushed it down just so it wouldn稚 be sticking all up

Lonesum,
Did you look at the picture?
Maybe the yellow wire we are talking about has been added by someone.
It is a heavier gauge wire..
Lizy,
Yup that's the wire we are talking about.See the battery terminal/connector on the right side?
I think that's where the wire was connected.
Your Grandfather prolly replaced the original wire.
Dont hide stuff anymore Lizy..what if we forget about it?

I'm not trying to be a azzhole Lizy, just wanting things to go as good as we can here.
Honestly I had another suggestion about doing something that will speed up your process
but now I think we have to much going on at once.
Get the friggin factory books asap....smiling here..
I'm sorry Lizy..not my intention to **** You off or be discouraging at all.
Maybe its me that's got to much going on all at once.

I like the colors, great way to show where they go! The lines will have to be replaced later so save these pictures to install the new ones the right way. Pay attention to the 2 oil lines on top of the tank; 1 goes to the oil filter (under the big chrome cap) and the other to an inlet on top of the tank.
Are the hoses still flexible or hardened?
I see a lot of rusty nuts and bolts so I would try to clean those and the dirt on the oil lines and oil pump. And the juggs of course Cheap toothbrushes, wd40, vinegar, brake cleaner will help.

Hmmm.... I see we moved on to wiring....
Do we want the loom restored or just enough wires to turn the engine over? And possibly start her up?
